Visiting KL

We love this city and can't wait to show it to you. Here are a few of our personal recommendations — the places we grew up visiting, some general suggestions for where to stay and how to navigate around KL.

Dear Malaysian friends, please feel free to add to this by submitting suggestions on the Food & Places Map at the bottom of this page!

Things to See

KL is a city that rewards exploration — from sky-high landmarks to neighbourhood streets that smell of spice and charcoal smoke. Here are some of our personal picks, some places definitely worth popping by.

Petronas Twin Towers

Petronas Twin Towers

An iconic KL landmark. Book the sky bridge in advance — the views from the 41st and 42nd floors are unforgettable.

Places to Stay

Our ceremony is in the south-west of KL, so Bangsar, Mid Valley, KL Sentral and Petaling Jaya are the most convenient areas to base yourself. Prices are a rough guide — worth checking closer to the date.

Wyndham Grand Bangsar Kuala Lumpur
Bangsar·$$$

Wyndham Grand Bangsar Kuala Lumpur

A sleek 5-star hotel. Modern rooms, a great pool, and right in the heart of our favourite neighbourhood.

Getting Around

KL is easier to navigate than it looks. Grab handles most short trips affordably, and the rail network covers the rest — no need to hire a car for the wedding weekend.

Grab

Grab

Download the Grab app before you arrive — it's like Uber but everywhere in Southeast Asia, and very affordable. Expect to pay RM10–25 for most trips between Bangsar and PJ.
